PTCAP: ADHD and Disruptive Behaviour Disorders

About this Course

This module provides assessments, diagnostic criteria, and management strategies for Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),and Disruptive Behaviour Disorders.

The module also describes broad-based, brief interventions that can provide immediate relief and optimism for those affected by ADHD and other disruptive disorders.

After completion of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Part 1: Evidence-based, disorder-specific guidelines
    • Explain how to detect and diagnose severe conditions causing significant impairment.
    • Use evidence-based guidelines in combination with common elements for attention deficit with hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and disruptive behaviour disorders to provide targeted, frontline treatment.
    • Recognize guidelines for appropriate referral and care coordination.
  • Part 2: Common elements
    • Summarize broad-based, brief interventions for ADHD and disruptive behaviour disorders based on the shared features of different evidence-based treatments.
    • Discuss how to provide immediate relief and optimism.
