PTCAP: Common Skills
About this Course
This module focuses on providing primary care providers(PCPs) with “common skills” - interviewing/counseling skills that can be used to facilitate an effective mental health conversation with children/families.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Describe interactive skills that can effectively and efficiently identify mental health needs during regular patient visits.
- Discuss strategies to help prioritize concerns and provide immediate relief to patients for a wide range of commonly encountered mental health issues.
- Formulate a mutually agreeable plan with children\youth and their families for next steps in their diagnoses and treatment.
